Breathtaking Depth Helps Anyone Manage Anyone

This book is simply amazing. It allows anyone to walk into an unknown situation and manage staff and situations successfully. Don't make the mistake and think this is a substitute for in-depth knowledge. What this book illuminates are situations when "we don't know what we don't know." It allows someone to quickly assess what must be studied in more depth to succeed, how to deal with radically different personality types and how to assess people's probable strengths or weaknesses within seconds.

Great content, bad printing.

Great content, bad printing. I lent out my copy of the 4th edition to someone who was a new manager and lost track of it. I bought this one as a gift to a new CEO in an organization I am on the board of. HOWEVER, the printing stinks. The text looks like a third generation photocopy or an old style dot-matrix printout, and some of the pages aren't cut perfectly. If I'm going to spend ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS on a single book, it seems totally reasonable to expect that the publisher wouldn't be cutting corners on the printing and binding. I'm glad it is still in print but at this cost anything less than perfect is unacceptable.
