Invaluable resource for nonprofit board members, fundraisers and staff. And not just at arts organizations.

I could go on and on about this book, but I will just say that after working as a nonprofit fundraiser for over a decade, and never working in an arts organization until my current organization, I recognized so many pitfalls and opportunities cited in this book in every organization I've worked or volunteered as a board member. Of course, the lessons in the book at particularly pertinent for arts organizations, but the applicability is really for the entire nonprofit sector, in my opinion.
Given the resources, I would hand this book to most CEOs, fundraisers, and board members I know. I plan to give out as many as I can afford. And as a fairly voracious reader, I can certainly say that is the first book I've ever described in that way, fiction or nonfiction.

Good info but repetitive

I think this book has a lot of good information in it, but it's repetitive. The first two chapters get redundant and then the chapter about "Implementing the Cycle" basically repeats everything you read previously. This book could have been a lot shorter.

Well-written practical recommendations that are equally useful for the uninitiated in the performing arts programming and the connoisseurs. It gives structure to the approach to managing the arts. The years of experience come through clearly in this book. Thank you for sharing Mr Kaiser.
